
On 31 July 2025, the Gonzagaites of Class XI participated in a Global Connected Classroom session on Interreligious Encounter. 31 July being the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the society of Jesus is a special day for all Jesuit schools across the globe and the Connected Classroom was organised by Educate Magis, a worldwide Jesuit school network with a theme Interreligious Encounter and the students were invited to reflect on one of the Ignatian values, Interreligious Encounter.
Fr Rohan D Almeida SJ, Principal of St Aloysius Gonzaga School, addressed the attendees, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola. He emphasised the importance of working for the greater glory of God through meaningful interreligious engagement.
Students from St Aloysius Gonzaga School reflected on the teachings of St Ignatius, highlighting the values of compassion and humility as essential in fostering interfaith understanding. The discussion focused on the themes of global citizenship and interfaith dialogue, with student representatives from various Jesuit schools from India, Santiago de Chile, Zimbabwe, and Colombia sharing their experiences and insights. Ms Deepa Karkada guided the students and Ms Aparna Suresh coordinated with Educate Magis.
