A physiotherapy session-‘Perspective on Musculoskeletal Disorders in Teachers’ was organized for all the teachers of St Aloysius Gonzaga School on 17th September 2025 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Gonzaga Hall. The session was conducted by Dr. Sheethal V. Pai (PT), Assistant Professor, and Dr. Nikitha (PT), Lecturer, from the Department of Musculoskeletal Sciences, Fr Muller College of Physiotherapy.
Dr Sheethal addressed the group on the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders among teachers and the impact of musculoskeletal pain, supported with research data. The session also focused on debunking common myths about musculoskeletal disorders, explained classroom ergonomics, and highlighted how prolonged sitting or standing could lead to musculoskeletal problems. Dr. Sheethal further explained the role of physiotherapy in managing these conditions and suggested simple lifestyle modifications. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment where teachers clarified their doubts and sought professional advice.
The programme began with a warm welcome by Ms Laurel Dsouza, Vice Principal. Ms Sandhya Manoj proposed the vote of thanks, appreciating the valuable inputs of the resource persons and the efforts of the organizers.
