Gandhi Jayanti Celebration - Classes I to XII

St Aloysius Gonzaga School commemorated Gandhi Jayanti on 4th October 2025 with great reverence and enthusiasm. Two well-coordinated programs, held for Classes I to V and VI to XII, honored the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation.

Classes VI to XII program began with a serene prayer service led by students of Classes VI B and VII D, followed by a warm welcome from Joaan Elizabeth Abhilash of class VII D. Sasha Sarah Sandeep and Praket Singh Kyalia of class VI B delivered an informative talk on Gandhi Jayanti, and a meaningful Educate Magis video on interreligious harmony was screened. Ms Precilla Sequeira and Vice Principal Ms Laurel D’Souza addressed the gathering, encouraging students to apply Gandhian principles in their lives. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Jiah Nipun of Class VI B and was compered by Ayaan Abdul Rahman and Avani P of Class VII D. It was organised under the guidance of Mr Santhosh Lobo, Ms Preethi Pais, and Ms Preetha Dinesh.

The primary section’s celebration opened with a graceful prayer dance by Class IV C, followed by a lamp-lighting ceremony by Vice Principal Ms Aparna Suresh and teacher representatives, Ms Jyothi Aravind, Ms Swathi and Ms Sandhya Manoj. Naksha of Class III B welcomed the audience, while Dhruv Bhandarkar and Naomika R. Shetty spoke on Gandhiji’s life. A melodious tribute song by Class III B students followed. Mrs. Aparna Suresh and Mrs. Sandhya Manoj inspired students through their addresses. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Himansh Kotekar of Class IV C and was guided by Mrs. Jyothi Aravind and Mrs. Swathi Bharath. Julian Mathias of Class IV C compered the programme.

The NCC, Scouts, and Guides, observing the theme “Ek Din – Ek Ghanta – Ek Saath.” actively participated in a one-hour cleanliness drive inspired by Gandhiji’s vision of a clean India. They cleaned the school campus and surrounding areas with enthusiasm and dedication, spreading awareness of the importance of cleanliness and collective responsibility. The celebration not only honored Mahatma Gandhi but also instilled in the students the spirit of working together for the betterment of society.
