St Aloysius Gonzaga School, Mangaluru, celebrated English Literary Week from 3 to 12 August 2026, providing students of Classes I to V with opportunities to explore literature, creativity and self-expression.

The week culminated in a Literary Fiesta on 12 August. Vice Principal Ms Laurel D’Souza addressed the students and emphasised the importance of developing a regular reading habit. She highlighted how reading enhances knowledge, imagination, vocabulary, grammar and communication skills, and encouraged students to make good use of the school library.

Kavya Dilesh Dattani of V D served as the Master of Ceremonies, while Arnav of IV B presented the significance of the celebration. Students of Class IV D presented a lively dance performance celebrating the joy of reading, followed by a poem recitation by Class III. An entertaining skit on the importance of reading, presented by Classes IV and V, and a creative video presentation added to the spirit of the celebration.

The National-Level Winners of the Handwriting Competition were felicitated by Vice Principal Ms Laurel D’Souza and Academic Coordinator Ms Carol Tina Rodrigues for their outstanding achievement.

The Literary Fiesta was a joyful celebration of books, imagination, creativity, and the joy of reading, inspiring students to develop a lifelong love for books.
