St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrated Deepavali – “Illuminating Hope: Celebrating the Victory of Goodness over Evil” with great joy and splendour on 25 October, 2025. The celebration also marked the warm welcome of Italian visitors, giving them a glimpse into the vibrant Indian culture and traditions. Chief Guest Mrs. Vathika Pai, Proprietor of Nirmala Travels, in her inspiring address, urged students to spread happiness and become a light in others’ lives. The Principal, Rev. Fr. Rohan D’Almeida SJ, encouraged students to be rays of hope, illuminating the world with kindness and humanity.
The event, compered by Gianna Kaydence Pinto of Class VI C and George Thomas of Class VIII C, began with an inter-religious prayer followed by a heartfelt welcome by Trisha Shenoy. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp by dignitaries and student representatives symbolised the triumph of light over darkness. A special song, mime, and dance gracefully conveyed the festival’s message of goodness and positivity.
Vice-Principals Mrs Laurel D’Souza and Mrs Aparna Suresh were also present. Arundhathi Alora Putgiyaveettil of Class VIII C proposed the vote of thanks.
