St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrates Teachers’ Day with music, nostalgia and recognition of educators

Mangaluru, September 5, 2026: “Education is the key to success, and teachers are the key holders to it,” said Principal Rev. Fr Rohan D’Almeida SJ at the Teachers’ Day celebration held at St Aloysius Gonzaga School on Saturday 5 September 2026.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr Rohan D’Almeida SJ highlighted the dedication of teachers and the commitment with which they discharge their responsibilities while balancing their professional duties with family commitments. Drawing attention to the often-unseen work of educators, he screened a video portraying the efforts teachers put in behind the scenes to support and nurture their students.

Urging students to value their teachers, the Principal called upon them to appreciate their efforts and remain grateful for their contribution to their lives. He also encouraged the students to become persons of character and “men and women for and with others.”

As a mark of appreciation for their service and commitment, teachers were honoured by the Management with special gift hampers and certificates during the celebration.

Organised by the students of Classes 10 and 12 under the leadership of the Student Council, the programme was based on the theme “1980s to 2020s” and took the audience on a nostalgic journey spanning four decades of music, dance, fashion and entertainment.

The students presented a series of performances, including energetic dances, musical orchestra presentations, a skit and an educational-themed ramp walk. A special audience song saw students from Classes 6 to 12 joining in, adding to the spirit of togetherness.

The programme also featured the felicitation of Ashmit A. J., a student of St Aloysius Gonzaga School and winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs – Zee Kannada. Ashmit was felicitated by the Principal, Vice Principals and Coordinators in recognition of his achievement. His parents were present on the occasion and shared in the celebration.

Ashmit and his father also spoke about his journey, recalling his experiences, growth and the efforts behind his achievement.

Parent-Teacher Executive Committee members were present during the occasion.

The celebration brought together students and teachers in a programme that combined entertainment with a message of gratitude, while highlighting the significant role of educators in shaping young minds and nurturing character.
