St. Aloysius Gonzaga School organized an awareness session on “Personal Hygiene and Dietary Health” on 27th January 2026 for Class VIII students, to promote healthy lifestyle practices. The session was conducted by students of the Microbiology Department, St. Aloysius Deemed to be University, and focused on personal hygiene, menstrual hygiene, and balanced nutrition. Ms. Jeneshiya Sequeira compered the programme. The speakers highlighted daily hygiene practices such as bathing, cleanliness, dental and oral care, hair care, clean clothing, and proper eating habits, explaining how poor hygiene can promote germ growth. Special emphasis was placed on hand hygiene as an effective infection-prevention method, comparing washing with soap versus water and stressing proper drying. Menstrual hygiene was addressed sensitively, covering menstruation, hygiene practices, disposal of sanitary products, and health risks of poor hygiene. The importance of a balanced diet, nutrition, and deficiencies was also discussed. The interactive session increased students’ awareness, confidence, and responsibility toward personal health.
