Our organized a parenting session on the theme “Supporting Kids During Exams and Holidays” on 7th March 2026 at the Gonzaga Hall for the parents of Pre-KG to Class XII. The programme began with Mr. Dheeraj Lobo welcoming the gathering, followed by a short prayer. Rev. Fr. Rohan D’Almeida SJ, Principal, then addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of cooperation between parents and teachers in helping students face academic challenges. Ms. Laurel D’Souza, Vice Principal of the Senior Section, was also present.
The resource person for the session was Ms. Sangeeta M. Sequeira, Counsellor at St. Aloysius Pre-University College. Drawing from her experience in student counselling, she spoke about the pressures students face today, including academic expectations and digital distractions. She emphasized the importance of conceptual learning rather than focusing solely on marks, reminding parents that marks do not define a child’s abilities. Ms. Sangeeta also shared strategies on adopting a supportive approach, such as helping children manage stress, maintain balanced study routines, and stay motivated during exams.
The session was interactive, with parents actively participating in the discussion. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Rachel Mendonca. The session provided valuable insights and strengthened the partnership between parents and the school in supporting students’ well-being and learning.
