Bidding Farewell to a Visionary Leader

St Aloysius Gonzaga School bid an emotional farewell to its beloved Principal, Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ, during a dignified staff programme on Friday, 20 June 2025. Fr Melwyn was given a red-carpet welcome by the Principal Fr Rohan D’Almeida SJ, Vice-princpals, teachers and non-teaching Staff. The occasion was graced by the Rector, Fr Melwin Pinto SJ; incoming Principal, Fr Rohan D’ Almeida SJ; teachers; non-teaching staff; and PTEC members. The programme began with a warm Welcome Address by Ms Deepa Karkada, followed by heartfelt tributes from Ms Aparna Suresh (Vice Principal KG to Class V), Mr Avil (support staff), and Ms Reena (PTEC Vice-president), who each spoke of Fr Melwyn’s compassionate leadership and enduring contributions. A touching video tribute, “A Walk Down Memory Lane”, rekindled memories of his impactful tenure, followed by a moving choir performance. Ms Laurel D’Souza read the citation, and Ms Vidya Esther presented the scroll of honour, preceding the formal felicitation. In his address, Fr Melwyn reflected with humility on his six-year journey, expressing sincere gratitude. Fr Rohan shared his vision for the future, while Rector Fr Melwin Pinto lauded Fr Melwyn’s integrity and dedication. A Vote of Thanks by Ms Deepthi Karkada, a group photograph, and a farewell lunch concluded the event—a seamless, heartfelt tribute to a much-admired leader.
