Integrating IPP in Lesson Plan

March 24, 2026

On 24 March 2026, a professional development session on Integrating the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm (IPP) in Lesson Plans was conducted in the School Boardroom. The session began with Fr. Rohan D’ Almeida SJ, who spoke about the history of Jesuit education and emphasised the importance of understanding student context, including their learning needs, backgrounds, and abilities. This was followed by Vice Principal Ms. Aparna Suresh, who elaborated on the key characteristics of Jesuit education. Ms. Acquina then guided the teachers on incorporating IPP into lesson planning through practical examples. The session aimed at helping teachers understand the five elements of the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm—Context, Experience, Reflection, Action, and Evaluation—while also demonstrating how IPP can be embedded into everyday teaching to promote holistic student development. Teachers were encouraged to adopt reflective and value-based practices, and sample lesson plans were discussed to illustrate how IPP elements could be integrated across subjects and grade levels. Overall, the session was informative and enriching, providing teachers with meaningful strategies to design lessons that foster both academic excellence and character formation, reinforcing the school’s commitment to the values of Ignatian education.
