A Session on The Empathy Effect – Shifting from ‘Me’ to ‘We’

St. Aloysius Gonzaga School organized an enriching session on the topic "The Empathy Effect: Shifting from ‘Me’ to ‘We’" for the students of Classes VII to IX held on 7 July 2026 in the Gonzaga Hall. The session aimed to help students understand the importance of empathy in building healthy relationships, promoting kindness, and creating an inclusive school community.

The resource person, Ms. Swaliha Asiya, Counselling Psychologist and Founder of Haven and Noor Wellness, Mangaluru, conducted an engaging and interactive session. Through thought-provoking examples and various real-life situations, she explained how shifting one's focus from "Me" to "We" can strengthen relationships, improve emotional well-being, and foster teamwork, cooperation, and mutual understanding. She also encouraged students to practice empathy in their everyday interactions and to appreciate the feelings and perspectives of others.

The session was compered by Ms. Jevita Freneta Ferrao, who also welcomed the resource person and proposed the vote of thanks. Academic Coordinator Ms. Deepthi Karkada was also present for the session. The session empowered students to become more empathetic, responsible, and caring individuals, inspiring them to contribute positively to their school, families, and society.
