St Aloysius Gonzaga School, Mangaluru, celebrated English Literary Week from 3 to 12 August 2026, providing students with meaningful opportunities to enhance their language skills, creativity, confidence and appreciation of literature.

The celebrations culminated in a Literary Fiesta on 12 August, featuring a range of engaging activities and performances that celebrated the joy of reading and the magic of language.

The week featured a variety of engaging literary events, including the Word Wizards Challenge, Picture Jam, Literary Debate, Spotlight Spectacular, Story in Reverse, Ad Mania: Sell with Style, Literary Escape Room, Readers’ Rendezvous and TED-Style Talk: Ideas Worth Sharing. The culmination programme featured a skit, a song, a presentation on the importance of discipline, and an orchestra accompanied by songs. The skit “Focus, Discipline and Success” effectively conveyed the importance of focus, discipline and perseverance in achieving success.

In his message, Principal Rev. Fr. Rohan D’Almeida SJ highlighted the theme “Language: The Bridge to Knowledge, Cultures and Opportunities.” He emphasised that language is a powerful medium of communication and stressed the importance of developing the mind, heart and hands. He also highlighted the significance of discipline in everyday life and congratulated the students, teachers and staff for their enthusiastic participation and dedicated efforts.

The celebration concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners of the various competitions. The presence of Vice Principal Ms Laurel D’Souza, Academic Coordinators Ms Deepa Karkada and Ms Deepthi Karkada, along with the teachers and students, added significance to the occasion.

The English Literary Week and Discipline Week concluded on a memorable note, inspiring students to develop a lifelong love for reading, learning and literature.
