Day 4:Faculty Enrichment Programme “Teachers as Effective Classroom Leaders”

May 29, 2025

A thought-provoking Faculty Enrichment Programme on the theme “Teachers as Effective Classroom Leaders” was conducted by Prof. Mathew Ninan, Director, Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar on 29th May 2025.

Prof. Ninan  emphasized that classroom effectiveness is the most significant factor contributing to student achievement, and that student success is directly proportionate to teacher quality. He highlighted that teachers with calibre and commitment have the power to shape not just individual learners but the growth and development of the entire institution.

One of the key concepts he discussed was the Pygmalion Effect, which illustrates how teacher expectations can positively or negatively influence student outcomes. Through vivid analogies such as “barnacles on a ship” and “life is an echo”, he brought attention to the lasting impact of attitudes, leadership, and communication in the teaching-learning process. His session was both reflective and energizing, urging teachers to lead with positivity, purpose, and continuous self-improvement.

The session began with a warm welcome and introduction of the resource person by Ms. Beena. The day concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Sushma.
